School Visits

Visits of special interest are arranged for children in connection with their school work. We regularly use educational visits to enhance the term's learning. All our visits are subject to very thorough prior planning and are carefully integrated into the sequence of lessons so that children will gain maximum benefit from their experiences.

You will need to sign a consent form for these activities. You will be informed about individual visits and any changes to the usual school times or lunch arrangements. Transport is usually provided by means of a hired coach though for visits to the local area children will walk.

Supervision of children on visits will be provided by teaching and non-teaching staff plus parent helpers. The level of supervision will be determined for each outing, taking into account where they are going and the planned activity. Supervision arrangements will comply with the standards set down by the Local Authority.

Our Year 6 children go on a residential visit each year towards the end of the Summer Term.

Parents and carers are asked for a donation toward the cost of visits and this information is provided each time. The PTA often subsidise the costs of visits so that any donation towards the cost of an educational visit is minimised but if insufficient donations are received then a visit may be cancelled.
